On June 6, 2025, as part of the “Enhancing Excellence in All Dimensions” initiative, the School of Accountancy and Finance, Walailak University had the honor of welcoming Asst. Prof. Dr. Phongsakorn Phichayadon, Senior Strategist and Director of the Tourism and Creative Economy Program under the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC), as a distinguished guest speaker.
He delivered a special lecture titled “The Funder’s Lens: Perspectives from Research Grant Providers,” focusing on deepening the understanding of research from the viewpoint of funding agencies. The session aimed to equip faculty members and researchers with the knowledge and strategies to develop high-quality research proposals that address societal needs and enhance the likelihood of securing funding.
The talk emphasized that impactful research goes beyond publication. It plays a vital role in generating new knowledge, which can be systematically integrated into classroom teaching—enhancing interdisciplinary learning and raising the overall quality of education within the School.
Participants actively engaged in in-depth discussions, exchanged ideas, and gained valuable guidance for shaping future research proposals that align with funding criteria and national priorities.
This activity represents a key strategy in propelling the School of Accountancy and Finance toward sustained excellence in both research and teaching.
