The Bachelor of Economics Program, School of Accountancy and Finance, Walailak University, organized the activity “Economics in Practice” under the course Tourism Economics during 6–8 September 2025 in Khanom and Sichon Districts, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. The activity aimed to provide students with experiential learning opportunities and practical knowledge in applying economics to sustainable tourism development.
Key activities included:

Surveying demand and supply at Khanom Floating Market to explore its potential for becoming a green market

Assessing the tourism potential of Khanom and Sichon areas

Attending a special lecture on “The Role of ESG Businesses and Sustainable Tourism” to deepen understanding of how businesses can support eco-friendly tourism initiatives
This initiative was carried out in collaboration with Khanom Gas Separation Plant, PTT Public Company Limited, Khanom Subdistrict Municipality, and the School of Accountancy and Finance, Walailak University. The event also welcomed Mr. Natthapong Rusue, Manager of Quality, Safety, Occupational Health, and Environment at Khanom Gas Separation Plant, PTT PLC, as a guest speaker, sharing valuable knowledge and experiences.
The “Economics in Practice” activity reflects the concept of experiential learning, integrating knowledge of tourism economics with the promotion of sustainable tourism and green society development.
